This Halloween, get ready for a truly one-of-a-kind concert experience full of thrills, chills, and laughs for lovers of all things spooky, campy, and fun!

On Tuesday, October 25, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) will host the world premiere of Symphony of Terror! at the Orpheum.

The spooktacular symphonic event will take audiences on a two-hour journey through the scores and songs of beloved horror films and musicals, including Nightmare on Elm Street, Psycho, Friday the 13th, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Ghostbusters, The Phantom of the Opera, Carrie the Musical, and more.

This brand new production will be presented in collaboration with horror drag icon Peaches Christ and internationally-renowned conductor Edwin Outwater for an evening of musical performances honouring the horror and drag genres.

Hailing from San Francisco, Peaches Christ is a filmmaker, event producer and cult leader known for her infamous self-produced movie events at the Castro Theatre and her involvement (as producer and star) with the San Francisco Symphony. Peaches is the alter-ego of Joshua Grannell, the writer, director, and star of the award-winning dark comedy gore feature film All About Evil, and the co-owner of the Into The Dark immersive theater production company.

Edwin Outwater is the Music Director of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. The visionary conductor, curator, and producer works with the world’s top orchestras, institutions, and artists to reinvent the live concert experience, and his ability to cross genres has led to collaborations with artists ranging from Metallica to Wynton Marsalis and Yo-Yo Ma.

Other special guests slotted to appear on stage at Symphony of Terror! are local drag artists Toddy (the winner of Season 1 of Call Me Mother) and Batty B Banks, award-winning horror film composer Harry Manfredini, the Vancouver Youth Choir, and other surprise guests yet to be announced.

True to the spooky season spirit, come to the theatre dressed in your Halloween costume and share your photos on social media - using the hashtag #VSOTerror - to be entered for a chance to win some fab-BOO-lous prizes from the VSO.

Tickets for ‘Symphony of Terror!’ start at $32 and are on sale now at vancouversymphony.ca.

The VSO is proud to partner with Rainbow Refugee, a Vancouver-based community group working and advocating in solidarity with in-Canada and inbound LGBTQIA+ refugees and claimants. They support those fleeing Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, sex characteristics, and HIV+ (SOGIESC) persecution to build communities of belonging in Canada.
