This fundraiser supports the team working to cut incidences of ovarian cancer in B.C. by 50%

The Ride to Conquer Cancer is a 2-day, 250KM bike ride that raises awareness and donations for cancer research in four Canadian provinces. Bringing together communities of cancer survivors, cyclists and supporters, the Ride to Conquer Cancer has raised more than $96 million over the last 10 years, making it the largest cancer research fundraiser in B.C.

This month, the Dilawri Group of Companies will help support this extraordinary initiative with the third annual Ride & Drive Gala on July 25, 2019 in Vancouver.

The Dilawri Charity Gala benefiting the Ride to Conquer Cancer was created to raise awareness and funds for innovative cancer research. This includes B.C. Cancer’s OVCARE team, who are working tirelessly to cut incidences of ovarian cancer in half by 2034. Ride to Conquer Cancer funds have already contributed to moving this team closer to their goal, with two of their world-first prevention strategies now being deployed throughout hospitals and facilities in B.C.

That’s not all; funds raised at the Dilawri Charity Gala directly support leading clinicians, scientists and researchers whose work will directly impact patients and families throughout the province, across Canada, and around the world.

The 2019 edition of Dilawri’s Charity Gala Benefiting the Ride to Conquer Cancer is anticipated to be an unforgettable evening, complete with live entertainment that includes a dazzling live art display, which will be auctioned off at the end of the evening in conjunction with the event’s signature silent and live auctions. One lucky attendee will also go home with a stunning $6,000 prestige Glashutte time-piece donated by Montecristo Jewellers as part of the evening’s raffle.

There will also be live jazz, incredible food, wine and cocktails and a myriad of interesting guests and speakers. Attendees typically include all 20+ of Dilawri’s luxury automotive dealerships, VIP clients, a wide selection of media groups, local Vancouver businesses and cycling enthusiasts galore.

This year’s gala will be emceed by TSN's 1040 Sports Talk radio hosts Matt Sekeres & Blake Price, who will share the stage with thought-provoking speakers Lindsay Carswell, Director of the Ride to Conquer Cancer and Dr. Howard Lim, an Oncologist from the B.C. Cancer Foundation.

Ultimately, the Ride & Drive Gala serves as an opportunity to honour the resilience of families that have been impacted by cancer while also supporting the doctors, teams, researchers and scientists who dedicate their lives to help conquer this devastating disease.
