New year, new location: Vancouver ramen restaurant rings in 2023 with downtown grand opening

Don’t miss out on the chance to score a free ramen at this Vancouver fan favourite

While the holidays may have come and gone, and we have officially entered a new year, we are still very much in the midst of cozy season, and all Vancouverites know that the ideal meal for curling up with some comfort food is none other than ramen.

Luckily for downtown dwellers, ZUBU Ramen is celebrating the dawn of 2023 by opening a new downtown location on Jan. 17. Located at 869 Hornby St, this new spot will be the chain’s biggest location, accommodating 100 seats.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, ZUBU is offering a righteous ramen deal sure to warm your heart - and stomach! - with the first 50 customers for the 11 a.m. lunch and 4 p.m. downtown dinner service receiving a FREE ramen on January 17, 18, and 19.

As if this deal couldn’t get any more delicious, the celebrations aren’t just contained to the new location. To commemorate the latest addition, from January 2nd to January 9th, the renowned ramen restaurant is offering a $10 dine-in deal at its Metrotown location. The same offer will also be available at its Kerrisdale and Park Royal locations from January 10 to 16.

It’s a discount to make your tummy grumble while keeping your wallet humble!

The perfect balance of new and old

The term ‘zubu’ translates to “to build tight or close connections through common interests and goals,” a sentiment that the establishment channels with every service and location.

Whether downtown, in Kerrisdale, Park Royal, or Metrotown, each location offers something unique yet familiar, perfectly toeing the line of comfort food and culinary adventure, just as it perfectly balances the flavours of every dish.

The new location will also be unveiling an exclusive list of specials to break into the downtown culinary scene, including a Ramen Flight, Beef Tongue and Truffle Vegan Ramen.

The objective is to continue looking forward while respecting, acknowledging, and incorporating the past and traditions. Executive Chef William Cao and Operations Manager Andy Wu and their team place innovative cuisine at the forefront of the guest experience, precisely paired with exceptional customer service and the intrinsic desire to create unforgettable experiences.

A very 'munchable' menu

ZUBU offers an eclectic selection on its menu, including fan-favourites such as hand-made gyoza, temaki, and, of course, a diverse variety of ramen, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Executive Chef William Cao is an expert in Japanese cuisine with a career spanning eight years following graduating from the Kitchen Hyodo Ramen School in Oyama, Japan. All ZUBU dishes utilize fresh ingredients from local farmers and markets when possible to ensure the highest quality.

With a fun-filled creative, youthful energy that beats through the dishes, as well as the restaurants' ambience, ZUBU is the ideal venue for any occasion, from celebrations to dates to simple get-togethers with friends to catch up after the holidays.

Whatever your craving, ZUBU has got you covered. But don’t wait to visit!

Be one of the first 50 guests to receive a free ramen on Jan. 17, 18, and 19, or be sure to cash in on the $10 dine-in deal from Jan. 2 to 9 in Metrotown or Kerrisdale and Park Royal from Jan. 10 to 16.

All proceeds from sales made during the first three days of the new downtown location will also be donated to the BC Children & Women's Hospital.
