There are two things that need to be said more out loud: the planet needs more care…

And so do you.

Sabai Thai Spa is looking to take care of both by combining your wellness experience with a powerful environmental mission.

Its new initiative connects self-care with environmental impact by planting a tree or every service booked. Through its partnership with veritree, the spa supports reforestation and marine restoration efforts in B.C., actively contributing to the recovery of ecosystems impacted by wildfires and climate change. With each visit, you’re not only relaxing your body but also making a real difference in restoring the environment.

So far, Sabai Thai Spa has planted 833 trees and 5,000 kelp off the Sunshine Coast and within the interior of B.C., bringing new growth to scorched forests and helping restore ocean habitats. These efforts contribute to carbon capture, marine biodiversity and local job creation — making each massage a small but powerful step toward a healthier planet.

A commitment to healing

"We believe healing starts from within — but it doesn't stop there," says Nuttha Goutier, co-founder of Sabai Thai Spa. "Our mission has always been to help people feel better in their bodies. Now, we're helping the planet feel better too."

By collaborating with veritree, a platform powering the global restorative economy through verified nature-based solutions, Sabai Thai Spa has made it simple for guests to give back with each visit. veritree brings trust, traceability and real impact to environmental efforts, having already reached 100 million trees pledged worldwide. Through this partnership, Sabai Thai’s new tree-planting initiative ensures one tree or kelp is planted for every massage. Guests can also choose to add an extra tree for $1.50 or kelp for $0.25 when buying a massage voucher online. This commitment has transformed the spa into more than a wellness destination — it’s a quiet force for environmental health.

Making every visit count

Known for blending traditional Thai massage techniques with modern therapeutic practices, Sabai Thai Spa has long been a destination for locals seeking rest and relaxation. Whether it’s the rhythmic flow of a Flow massage, the soothing touch of aromatherapy oils or the restorative effects of reflexology and facials, each treatment is crafted to promote deep, lasting wellness.

Now, through its tree-planting initiative with veritree, Sabai Thai is extending that philosophy of care beyond the spa.  "It's more than a tree—it’s a step toward climate resilience, community connection and a healthier future," says Co-Founder Jacques Goutier.
