For many Vancouverites, spending the day watching the Canadians play the Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium is a bonafide summer tradition.

That’s because, in addition to great plays, the Vancouver Canadians are known for hosting a pretty exceptional day on the field. With events, promotions and activities for baseball fans, kids, parents and even pets, watching the Canadians is an absolute summer must.

Here are the five things we love most about seeing the Canadians.

3FT LONG HOT DOGS

Oh the delicacies of a baseball game! Giant hotdogs are Vancouver Canadians tradition and yes, they’re actually 3ft long. If that’s not your thing, Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium has plenty of other classic baseball fare, including craft beer, ice cream and more. Throughout the summer, the Canadians also have free root beer days courtesy of A&W. Find out when that’s happening HERE.

SUSHI MASCOT RACES

Simply known as the Sushi Races, the Canadians’ Sushi Mascots; Ms. BC Roll, Mr. Kappa Maki and the sinister Chef Wasabi go head-to-head for sushi supremacy at the top of every 4th inning. It sounds silly and it totally is. Just wait until you see how into it the crowd gets!

FAMIlY DAYS AND FREE STUFF

Throughout the season, the Canadians give away tons of free swag, ranging from fleece blankets to sunglasses and hats. There’s giveaways arranged especially for kids and even a few opportunities for your kids to run the bases. To make sure the whole family gets in on the fun, there’s even a special day where dogs are allowed in!

THE FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA

The Canadians host their signature Fireworks Extravaganza Presented by Scotiabank throughout the summer. Check their promotional schedule for details HERE.

THE BASEBALL FANS

The best thing about Canadians games are all the people that come together to make a super fun, relaxed and family friendly day centred around baseball. In addition to being the only official minor league team in Canada, the Vancouver Canadians also have some of the best fans out there.

First timers take note, the season is almost over! You can grab tickets for upcoming games HERE.
