Taking place June 22 - July 1, this year’s Jazz Fest will feature 300 concerts (half of which are free), in 35 venues throughout Vancouver.

From dark jazz clubs to sunset serenades in the park, Jazz Fest is truly an incredible time of year to be in the city. To be sure you’re making the most of it, here’s everything you need to know about TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival 2018.

There’s free jazz and free-jazz

Free concerts are scheduled to take place throughout the entirety of the festival, with outdoor performances taking place at the Vancouver Art Gallery and Robson Square (June 23 - 24), David Lam Park (June 30 - July 1) and free indoor concerts at the Ironworks theatre and St. Andrew’s Wesley United Church. There will also be free shows on two stages every day at Granville Island, plus four stages of free music on Canada Day!

The “Queen E” is the place to be

This year’s festival is highlighted by a very special performance by Robert Plant, who will be performing reinterpreted versions of Led Zeppelin classics, as well as world-music inspired cuts from his storied career.

Contemporary jazz heavyweight Kamasi Washington, Multi-platinum artist Macy Gray and Grammy nominated electronic artist, Bonobo will also perform as part of the festival’s “Marquee Series” taking place at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Tickets can be purchased for each event HERE.
