Vancouverites are getting a new low-cost option for nonstop flights to Mexico's largest city.
Flair Airlines is introducing a new non-stop service from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Mexico City International Airport Benito Juárez (MEX), beginning in October.
The airline will operate thrice weekly flights out of each city, with fares starting at $141 from Vancouver and $160 from Toronto.
Flair Airlines will be Canada's first ultra-low-cost carrier to offer direct flights to Mexico City. This will provide more opportunities for travellers to visit Mexico as interest in travel to the United States wanes.

Currently, only Air Canada and Aeromexico offer nonstop service to Mexico City from YVR. Aeromexico typically offers cheaper deals, with return trips starting under $700.
Flair Airlines offers an ultra-low-cost option from Vancouver to Mexico City
One-way, direct flights are available via Canada's flag carrier and Aeromexico in February 2026 for around $300 from Vancouver to Mexico City. In contrast, Flair's new deal includes options for $140.99 (see slides two and three).
“For too long, flights to Mexico City have been out of reach for too many,” said Maciej Wilk, CEO of Flair Airlines in a news release. “We’re changing that. Flair is the only value airline in Canada, making it possible for customers to explore the capital of Mexico, and for Mexicans to discover all that Toronto and Vancouver have to offer.”
Flair currently operates direct flights from Vancouver to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Guadalajara. The airline says the addition of the Mexican capital city "opens new opportunities for travel, tourism, business, and connection."
The airline has decreased or discontinued service on several U.S. routes in the past year. The airline removed the Vancouver-Palm Springs route from its summer 2025 schedule due to a lack of demand.
