For Vancouverites looking to travel overseas, England offers a plethora of some of the world’s most famous attractions, including Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, the National Gallery, and much more.

If you're hoping to score a sweet deal on a flight to the "big smoke" right now, you might feel underwhelmed.

Return flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) cost over $900 for the cheapest options and prices jump up dramatically closer to the holidays, too.

But if you are willing to wait until the new year, there's a wide variety of dates to choose from that cost hundreds of dollars less — but they are only available for a couple of months.

Using the price calendar on Google Flights, you can search through significantly lower prices on flights departing between Jan. 16, 2023, and March 8, 2023. The cheapest flights cost around $697 with WestJet but involve at least one stop in either direction.

The prices are $361 cheaper than average for the popular route, as the least expensive flights usually cost between $990 to $1,400, according to Google Flights.
