If you're hoping to score an ultra-cheap ticket to Montreal from Vancouver this summer, you're probably out of luck.

While there are still several one-way tickets that cost just over $100 -- which is still a great deal -- all of the jaw-dropping offers have been scooped up for the hot season.

But locals looking to score a cheap ticket will find prices drop in mid-September, meaning that they can still enjoy the pleasant weather in the vibrant Quebec metropolis.

Flair Airlines has revolutionized the route connecting Vancouver International Airport (YVR) with Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL), offering a direct service between the cities for as little as $57. Other airlines have followed suit, such as newcomer Lynx Airlines, which offers the popular route for $89

Following the summer's soaring prices, the first cheap flight connecting the two cities departs on Sept.14 with Lynx Air for its lowest price on the route, at $89. At this time, Flair's prices exceed $150 for a one-way ticket.

Vancouverites who want to take advantage of the cheapest ticket available on the route will need to wait until the unofficial start of "spooky season," Oct. 1, when Flair Airlines offers its $57 deal.

Booking flights with Flair Airlines in the wake of travel uncertainty

Discount airline Flair Airlines came under fire recently after nearly 2,000 travellers were stranded in destinations across the country when their flights were cancelled at the eleventh hour following the seizure of four aircraft.

Several people have shared personal "horror" stories with V.I.A. in recent months after flights were cancelled close to boarding and they experienced difficulties getting new flights. However, the carrier continues to offer the lowest prices out of YVR.

You must pay an extra fee for bags with Flair Airlines. You can take a personal item but anything else will cost you, including a piece of carry-on luggage.
