Expedia recently consulted 1,000 Canadians to determine what places were the best to visit, and two B.C. gems made the list.

Entitled Canadians Choose the Best Places to Visit in 2019, the list features 19 destinations from across the globe. Many people preferred to travel within Canada, while other respondents chose breathtaking destinations from across the globe.

B.C.'s famous Gulf Islands were selected for their awe-inspiring coastlines which are perfect for kayaking, boating, and more.

In addition, the hugely popular Harrison Hot Springs was selected for the list, with its rejuvenating waters overlooking picturesque mountain ranges.

"One thing we noticed in our survey of the top places to travel in 2019 was an upswing of hot springs recommendations--and if you're going to dip into magical waters for the first time, there really isn't a better locale than Harrison Hot Springs," says Jennifer Cuellar, writer, Expedia.

"With perfect waters, lots of festivals, and gorgeous scenery, it more than earns a spot on our top 2019 list."

Other Canadian mentions included Stratford in Ontario, Calgary in Alberta, Brandon in Manitoba and Bathurst, New Brunswick.

Hopetown in the Bahamas, Puerto Vallarta in Mexico and Bogota, Colombia were some of the international selections on the list.
