Metro Vancouver residents have no need to check the mailbox Monday.
That’s because Canada Post suspended service due to health risks from smoke wafting in from Washington State wildfires.
“Due to poor air quality in central and southern British Columbia caused by smoke from forest fires in the western United States, we are suspending delivery for the day and not sending our delivery agents out as conditions have made it unsafe,” the Crown corporation said.

Delivery in the area will start up again when it is deemed safe to do so, Canada Post maintained.
Other parts of B.C. seeing a suspension on deliveries starting Sept. 14 includes Duncan, Sidney, Victoria, Campbell River, and Powell River.
