Two men face drug dealing charges after a raid on a Burnaby condo yielded thousands of prepackaged doses of crack cocaine and fentanyl, $20,000 in cash and several weapons last month.
Police raided the apartment, located in a Brentwood highrise, on July 22, according to a Burnaby RCMP news release.
The condo was allegedly being used as a drug processing location for crack cocaine and fentanyl and had been the subject of an extensive investigation by Burnaby RCMP’s drug section before the warrant was executed, police said.
Along with wads of cash and about 2,000 prepackaged doses of crack cocaine and fentanyl, officers seized bulk cocaine, fentanyl and cutting agents, as well as four vehicles, several weapons and cell phones.
One man was arrested at the apartment; a second man was arrested in a different location, according to police.
They now face charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
“This search warrant and enforcement initiative will serve to help combat the death and devastation of the illegal fentanyl and cocaine trade in Burnaby and the surrounding areas,” Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in the release. “We are asking that Burnaby residents in high rises and other residential areas report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood to police.”
