Horrific head-on collision in Burnaby leaves multiple people injured

A Burnaby overpass was closed to traffic and multiple people were sent to hospital after being involved in a head-on collision Sunday afternoon.

The crash took place on the overpass on Kensington Avenue above Lougheed Highway at around 3:15 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

The crash caused multiple injuries, including people trapped in both vehicles. The Jaws of Life was needed to free them.

At least six ambulances were sent to the scene.

Southbound Kensington was closed on the overpass for several hours for an investigation.
