Staring on Friday (May 21), Environment Canada calls for sunshine and a high of 17°C along the water with an inland high of 20°C and an overnight low of 9°C. On Saturday, locals can expect an 18°C high along the water with an inland high of 22°C with a double-digit overnight low of 12°C.

Sunday's forecast calls for sunshine with slightly more cloud cover, but temperatures are still expected to reach 18°C along the water. On Monday, the forecast calls for a cooler high of 14°C as well as a 40 per cent chance of showers.

Following the weekend, however, Tuesday is expected to be sunny and bright with a soaring high of 19°C on the water.

Are you ready for summer?

Environment Canada has provided an early summer weather forecast for Metro Vancouver that calls for warmer temperatures overall.

Meteorological summer commences on June 1, which is when the federal forecaster will release the official 2021 seasonal weather forecast for B.C. However, some models give an early indication that the region will see warmer weather this year.

Meteorologist Doug Lundquist told Vancouver Is Awesome that he feels most of B.C. will see above-average temperatures for June, July and August.
