Do you love online gaming?

While many people enjoy playing team-based games online, some competitive eSports players take home impressive winnings.

In fact, a new study finds that the highest-earning eSports player in Canada has raked in over $2.2 million.

The study, conducted by Gambling.com, analyzed eSports player winnings from every country including Canada, China, the US, New Zealand, and more to determine the best country to be an eSports player.

Canada ranked eighth in the world for the amount its eSports players earned, with total earnings of over $27 million.

The study also found that some of the top Canadian eSports players were from Vancouver, with four of the top ten Canadian players being from Vancouver.

Canada's highest-earning eSports player, Artour Babaev, hails from Vancouver and earned an impressive $2,257,053.21 overall.

"If the average Canadian brings home $54,630 annually, it would take them just over 18 years to earn the same winnings as Jacky Mao ($987,072), the 5th highest ranked Canadian eSports player. On the other end of the spectrum, it would take the average Canadian over 41 years to make the same amount of money as Artour Babaev, the #1 ranked Canadian eSports player," explain report authors.
