Yee Mon Gin lives in Vancouver and says he has a deep love for cruises, having taken a dozen thus far. After winning the $1-million MAXMILLIONS prize from the Lotto Max draw on Oct. 30, 2020, he looks forward to setting sail again once it’s safe to do so, explains a release from the BCLC.

The Vancouver resident enjoys playing Lotto Max with Quick Pick numbers and purchased the winning ticket from 88 Supermarket on Victoria Drive. It was there that he checked his ticket with a retailer.

“I couldn’t think of anything,” he recalled. “I was in shock!”

"I’m very happy."

Immediately after he won, Gin shared the life-shattering news with his son, who "was equally excited and happy."

Aside from taking a cruise when it’s safe, Gin has plans to share his win with his family.

“I’m 85 years old and there’s nothing that I need. I’m very happy,” he added.
