A Richmond teen is making a plea to the community to keep an eye out for her support dog, who has been missing since Thursday evening.

Kaitlyn Wadman and her emotional support dog, Coco, were entering the house after a pee break when Coco slipped out the front door and escaped into the neighbourhood.

The six-year-old black and white Shih-Tzu, was last seen around Blundell and No. 2 roads at 7 p.m.

Kimberley Wadman, Kaitlyn’s aunt, said they have called nearby shelters and BC SPCA, but have not heard back.

“It’s quite important to have her by Kaitlyn’s side 24/7,” said Kimberly, adding that Kaitlyn isn’t doing well without Coco.

“We just hope we can find Coco soon or else we don’t know what to do.”

She told the Richmond News that the family has placed ads on Craigslist and posters around the neighbourhood.
