Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck at St. Georges Avenue and East Third Street Friday night.

The incident occurred around 5:50 p.m. in the Lower Lonsdale neighbourhood of North Vancouver. A woman was taken to hospital and kept there overnight with unknown injuries, according to Sgt. Doug Trousdell of the North Vancouver RCMP.

“We don’t know what happened, it was raining and dark out and those may be contributing factors, but we are still investigating what might have contributed to the accident,” said Trousdell.

The driver of the pickup truck remained on scene and was co-operative with police following the incident, said Trousdell.

No charges have been recommended at this point.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or have dashcam footage, is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP non-emergency line at 604-985-1311.
