One man is dead after a fire Saturday near the intersection of East 12 Avenue and Slocan Street in an RV.

Vancouver firefighters arrived on the scene first, followed by police according to an email from Cst. Tania Visintin.

"A 29-year-old woman was able to escape, however, a man in his 50s unfortunately did not make it out and was found deceased," she writes. "The woman was transported to hospital for second-degree burns."

The incident is being looked into by both arson investigators and the B.C. Coroners' Service. However, Visintin adds, evidence at the moment doesn't indicate any criminal aspect to the fire.

The fire is still under investigation.
