RCMP posted the meme of the orange coloured ticket to its Twitter page on Friday, Oct 11, stating: “The one fall flavour you don’t want a taste of. Please drive safe.”

We know you're probably not going to fall for this one, but the message from RCMP to drive safe this weekend is no joke.

The Thanksgiving holiday is historically the 'deadliest long weekend on B.C. roads,' with an average of 2,200 crashes, nearly 700 people injured and four killed, according to Insurance Corporation of British Columbia.

Winter tires or chains are now mandatory on most B.C. highways, including all of those in northern B.C. Winter tires are labelled with either the mountain/snowflake symbol or the mud and snow (M&S designation).

Also, make sure your tires have adequate tread and are properly inflated.
