Later today, Verna Holmes - who has sold BCLC lottery products for more than 35 years at her Seafair Smoke & Mixer at Seafair Shopping Centre - will be awarded $60,000: the largest seller's prize ever handed out in B.C.

Holmes sold the bumper Lotto Max ticket in July to Richmond resident and retired fisherman Joseph Katalinic, who picked up his cheque two weeks ago.

Katalinic’s Quick Pick ticket matched all seven numbers to win the largest lottery prize in B.C. history. Previously, B.C. has had three $50 million Lotto Max winners.

The former commercial fisherman has called Richmond home virtually his whole life.
