Vancouver driver nailed with nearly $2k in fines for driving with flashlights for headlights (PHOTOS)

The driver was initially stopped for an "insecure load," but there was a lot more going on.

A Vancouver driver had their dangerous vehicle taken off the road recently after police busted them for a series of infractions, including using flashlights in place of proper headlights.

Vancouver Police Traffic Sargeant Mark Christensen shared photos and highlights from the tale of this driver's encounter with the long arm of the law.

Among the issues police found was the driver lacked insurance, and had also failed to comply with a previous inspection order.

Photos shared to Christensen's Twitter feed show a dark-coloured Ford pick up truck loaded up with what appears to be all manner of construction supplies and tools, dangling precariously out the tailgate end.

Additionally, the driver had rigged flashlights to serve as headlights.

All told, the driver had their truck impounded, and was hit with $1,920 in fines.
