While the Metro Vancouver weather foreast calls for rain today, Environment Canada is calling for a frosty change of pace later this week.
In fact, the week's forecast includes a chance of snow on five of the next seven days.
Starting on Tuesday, Vancouver is expected to see rain and wind with a high of 9°C during the day. Later on, the evening is expected to be cloudy with a 60% chance of showers and a low of 1°C. Similarly, Wednesday's forecast calls for a 60% chance of showers with a high of 4°C and a low of 1°C.
Following this, Thursday is expected to see periods of rain during the day, however, the evening forecast calls for a rain or snow. On Friday, the forecast calls for rain or snow all day. Saturday's forecast calls for rain or snow during the day followed by a 60% chance of rain or snow at night.
Sunday is expected to see a 60% chance of flurries or rain showers throughout the day. In addition, the forecast notes that the eveing low will dip down to a chilly -1°C.
Monday is also expected to see a 60% chance of flurries or rain showers.
Metro Vancouver Weather Forecast
While Vancouverites are known to complain about the city's 'wet cold,' temperatures are expected to drop quite low next week.
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Coastal British Columbia for the start of the week, but a cold weather pattern is expected to move into the region starting Wednesday.
The department notes that the city could see its coldest weather of the winter so far. A north westerly flow is expected to bring arctic air to the Lower Mainland, and locals are advised to prepare for the frosty conditions. Daily highs will hover around freezing, while daily lows could fall to a chilly - 6°C or -7°C.
