What a week. Comedian Ricky Gervais gave some serious love to Vancouver, a B.C. landlord was ordered to pay a big fine after discriminating against a new mother, and a pigeon tried to ride the SkyTrain ...

Here's what you may have missed:

1. Ricky Gervais singled out a Vancouver brew as the best beer he's ever tasted

Comedian and actor Ricky Gervais is a huge fan of Vancouver, and we've just learned it's also one of our city's delicious craft brews that has left an impression with the Brit.

Asked on Twitter what his favourite beers were, Gervais professed a "like" for Brooklyn lager and other beers he's tasted at microbreweries from across the globe. But, then, just like two years ago when he saved the best tour stop for his last, Gervais gave some serious love to Vancouver.

"I remember thinking 'Gypsies Tears' in Vancouver was the best I'd ever tasted," the comedian tweeted. 🍻

2. A B.C. landlord was ordered to pay $11K for pressuring a new mother to move

The B.C. Human Rights Tribunal has ordered a Lower Mainland landlord to pay $11,000 to a family she pressured to move out after they had a baby

The tribunal ruled Germaine Valdez was discriminated against on the basis of her sex and family status by landlord Meltem Bahcheli.

3. Have a peek inside this Burnaby mall’s mind-blowing new entertainment complex

Cineplex gave Burnaby reporter Chris Campbell a guided tour of the construction of its mega-entertainment complex known as the Rec Room and his mind was "blown."

"It’s unlike anything Burnaby has ever seen," Campbell writes.

The Rec Room will have food, drinks, games, a sports bar, and live entertainment all in one epic space. See what it will be like. 📷

4. Check out these moody images of Chinatown dusted in snow

A Vancouver photographer has shared a series of moody images of Chinatown dusted in snow.

Mazhar Bagasrawala, a designer and photographer based in Vancouver, said he was inspired to take the photos during the snowstorm that swept through the city mid-January. He had just returned from a trip to Indonesia and woke Jan. 15 to see a city covered in white, and couldn’t resist the rare opportunity to capture it in all its glory. ❄️📷

5. That time a pigeon tried to catch a ride on the Canada Line in Vancouver

Hey buddy, where's your compass card?

A user in the Vancouver subreddit shared a (sadly too-short) video clip of a pigeon trying to go for a ride on the Canada Line, and a passenger shooing the bird off the train. Watch the video! 📹 😂
