Bizarre things happened this week. People are selling paper towels for ridiculous prices on Craigslist because of fears of a coronavirus pandemic, others are trying their luck at silly Gofundme campaigns, and a couple was fined for banging pots and pans into the night.

Here's what you may have missed:

1. Beware of these Vancouver Craigslist deals that play on coronavirus panic

As people across Metro Vancouver prepare for the potential of community transmission of COVID-19, some have taken to preying on the fears of a pending pandemic. And nowhere have those fears taken a more absurd turn than on Craigslist. 😷

See what people are selling.

2. Take a look at the B.C. GoFundMe campaigns no one's supporting

On a less serious note, here's a roundup of some of the least worthy GoFundMe campaigns happening in B.C.

One is from a guy who wants a snack. Another wants help paying a ticket. None are worth supporting, but they are worth a laugh. 😄Right here.

3. A legendary Vancouver restaurant is closing after 35 years

We have more sad news for restaurant-goers. A well-loved Vancouver fine dining restaurant has revealed they are closing their door after an incredible 35-year-run in the city's Kitsilano neighbourhood.

Launched in 1985, Bishop's has been a staple in the city's farm-to-table movement and elegant dining.

If this spot wasn't on your bucket list before, now is the time! 🍴

4. These Burnaby condo owners were fined for banging pots and pans late into the night

A Burnaby couple will not be getting their money back after being fined for banging pots and pans in their Brentwood-area condo late into the night.

The couple paid the fine for violating the strata’s noise bylaw but then applied to the tribunal to have their money reimbursed and for the tribunal to order the strata to stop falsely accusing them of making noise. Here's what happened.

5. Check out this $30M West Vancouver property for sale right now

This luxury property takes waterfront living to the next level. Priced at $30 million, the house at 2910 Park Lane is currently the most expensive home in West Vancouver listed for sale on REW right now.

The striking waterfront estate, in the Altamont neighbourhood, maintains a low profile and is hidden from street view, offering the ultimate private abode. Have a peek inside. 📷
