Drivers and pedestrians were lucky after a recent incident in south Vancouver.

A video posted this week to Instagram and TikTok shows a runaway food trailer from popular Vancouver company Japadog rolling loose down Main Street and approaching the intersection with Southeast Marine Drive.

Luckily, while the trailer does veer into the oncoming traffic lanes it misses the one car driving north. It then careens off to the nearby sidewalk on the east side of the road and hits an electric pole, coming to a sudden stop.

In an email to Vancouver Is Awesome the Japanese hot dog company says it apologizes for the incident and for causing concern.

"In spite of being at the heavy traffic junction and busy intersection, fortunately, no person or vehicles got harmed," a Japadog spokesperson writes. "We have immediately worked on our safety and pre-trip inspection policies, to prevent any similar future incidents."

The video was originally shared on Instagram by @heeeydevon and then shared by 604tv on TikTok where it's been watched more than 460,000 times.
