Qmunity: Inside Vancouver's queer resource centre

Qmunity is a resource centre located in Davie Village, Vancouver’s iconic gay district. Find out how they have been a cornerstone of the community for over 40 years.

Qmunity is a non-profit organization which supports queer, trans and two-spirited people across British Columbia.

Founded in 1979, they provide vital services for the LGBTQ2SAI+ community, including peer support groups and free gender-affirming chestwear. Their low-cost counselling programs are in high demand and currently have a wait-list of up to eight months.

Volunteers in hubs across the province provide a variety of services: from legal advice to refugee claims and gender-affirming referrals.

Since the pandemic, many Qmunity services have moved online, broadening their services to rural areas of B.C.
