The RCMP has released video of the attack at a Coastal GasLink (CGL) worksite last week.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Feb. 17 near Houston in northern B.C., involved around 20 people. During the attack, RCMP say axes were used and equipment was damaged.
Now, video from CGL is being released, from the point of view of employees who were at the site.
"Video footage obtained by investigators show several people, some armed with axes; storm the property, attack a company vehicle while an employee was inside the truck," state the RCMP in a press release. "The unknown individuals, who were similarly dressed, swung axes at the vehicle; spray painted the window and ignited what is suspected to be a flare gun. Thankfully, the CGL employees were not physically harmed."
In the video, individuals dressed all in white, with hoods and masks covering their heads and faces, can be seen.
Some of the footage shows one attacker swinging what may be a small axe at a pickup truck with a CGL employee inside.
Other footage shows a strobe light being used to blind a CGL employee in a truck before one of the truck's windows is spray-painted. What appears to be a flare from a flare gun is then fired along the side of the truck.
Video from the RCMP will be uploaded to this story shortly.
