This last Saturday, May 22, the VanDusen Botanical Garden hosted the All British Field Meet of cars, trucks and motorcycles. The rains stayed away just in time for the event on the grass. The design, graphics, logos and colors of the vehicles were great to see in the park environment. All the cars could be looked at closely and some people were even able to sit inside of them if they were friendly with the owners.

The paint jobs alone were worth the price of admission. Amazing colors. A bit of self-deprecating humour. Even the trunks (boots) were cool. BSAs, Triumphs, Nortons and a bunch of other British motorbikes were at the Meet. Some of the owners had albums showing the before restoration pics. And after restoration the cars are spotless. While on safari, this Land Rover has a handy roof tent. Another view of the roof tent. Canada's oldest Rolls Royce was there. Each car had a sign with hand-done calligraphy. Some original Mini Coopers. Pretty much the cutest car was the Nash Metropolitan. These little cars used to be allowed on Football pitches during games so that disabled sports fans could see the game. Just outside VanDusen Gardens you could buy your own car-boat.
