Local Natives in Technicolor

I stumbled upon Local Natives completely by accident.

I stumbled upon Local Natives completely by accident. When I went to see Edwarde Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros back in December, my friend and I figured we would get there early and get our stamps to avoid a line, grab dinner close by, and come back right before they took the stage. But as soon as we got stamped we were told "no ins and outs", to which we weren't very enthused at the idea of hanging at The Biltmore for three hours. However, when Local Natives opened the show I remember us listening with our mouths open in disbelief glancing at each other occasionally with the silent understanding of "this band rocks".

Six months later and Local Natives came back to Vancouver, this time headlining their own show at Venue. The band was just as amazing as I remember, and this time I was able to sing along to all the songs having memorized them in their absence. Their perfectly in sync harmonies were mesmerizing and these guys are absolutely one of the tightest live bands I have ever seen. Painted in red, blue, green, and purple stage lights, the band perfectly performed their debut album Gorilla Manor, showcasing their diverse instrumental talents.

They mentioned they would be back in the fall, so I advise everyone else to memorize Gorilla Manor in the meantime and that way you can accompany me in my failed attempt to harmonize with them from the crowd.
