Geist Literary Postcard Collection Brings Your Mail to life

A snapshot of my prized postcard collection. I love a good postcard. In fact I've been collecting them for years. Friends send them from tropical destinations and when away I schedule time to dip into souvenir shops to hunt for a snail mail gem.

I love a good postcard. In fact I've been collecting them for years. Friends send them from tropical destinations and when away I schedule time to dip into souvenir shops to hunt for a snail mail gem. Now with the Geist Magazine Literary Postcard Story Contest underway I can use this collection to spark something more than laughter.

The 7th annual Geist Literary Postcard Story Contest is for any and all writers who have a fiction or non-fiction short story to share. Find a postcard, let it inspire a short story (maximum of 500 words) and send it to the friendly folks at Geist. The winning entries will be published in Geist and at geist.com and be eligible for a maximum prize of $250.00. For more details about submissions and judging head over this way and to read last year's winners mosey over here.

Because this year is Geist’s 20th anniversary, applicants who enter before November 20, 2010 will receive the magazines 20th anniversary collector’s issue! The final deadline is January 15, 2010 and your literary postcard story can be submitted online here or sent by mail to:

# 210-111 West Hastings Street

Vancouver, BC

V6B 1H4

Best of luck and can't wait to see how those dusty postcards stir your inner writer!
