When I first saw this image I thought "hey, that could be an ad for UNPLUGGED", then I thought "hey, I've thought that before", then I realised that the time I had thought that before was when I wrote this post about another of Miek's images, back in September.
Miek is turning out to be a bit of a frequent flyer here on the UNPLUGGED Flickr Pickr, and rightfully so. He keeps producing beautiful work about our awesome surroundings and often seems to come up with subject matter that speaks precisely to what we do and love here...making photographs, getting outside, enjoying this awesome city, appreciating our amazing province and just getting back to our natural habitat.

It’s that point in your consciousness where you can feel at one with nature, escaping the trappings of the day-to-day to an almost dream-like place where nothing else seems to exist besides you and your natural surroundings. It is our opinion here at VIA that Vancouver holds a unique place in the civilized world in that reaching this state often requires no more effort than simply pulling off to the side of the road, pocketing your keys and taking a few steps into the forest
