Unless you've been living under a rock, you’ll know what we mean when we say BC was a hot topic this summer—literally. There were more than a dozen noteworthy fires that blazed through various parts of the province, threatening and even destroying some communities, business and homes. Compared to 2014, this summer has seen fewer hectares burned (298,072 versus 369,169 hectares, respectively), but there have been a higher number of fires in total: 1,810 from just this summer compared to 1,484 in 2014.
