Welcome to my new weekly style column on Vancouver is Awesome! As the editor of VITA magazine and Vitadaily.ca, I’m constantly (happily) exposed to all things fashion and beauty in Vancouver. I grew up in this gorgeous city and, despite the bad fashion rap it’s given from time to time, happen to know for a fact that we do NOT wear leggings 24-7!

October is made all the more rosy thanks to the fact that it is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Below, three great companies supporting the cause with special-edition pink products.

CND

At this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure, many runners sported a pink pinky nail. The polish of choice? CND Vinylux Weekly Polish shade Pink Leggings, official nail colour of the Promise Campaign. CND.com

H&M

The retailer's partnered with Rethink Breast Cancer on a limited-edition T-shirt collection to help dispel myths and misconceptions around the disease through the organization's new #8008135 campaign (look carefully: the number "spells" BOOBIES). HM.com

David Yurman

A longtime partner of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the jeweler has, this year, created the David Yurman Starburst Single Station Bracelet with pink sapphires. Purchase one at Holt Renfrew or Nordstrom this month and see 20 per cent of proceeds benefit the BCRF. DavidYurman.com

The October 2017 issue of VITA magazine is out now! Find it on Alberni Street, or read the digital edition at Vitadaily.ca.
