Vancouver Pride: The best events, performances, and community gatherings

From the first Desi Pride Block Party to a sober festival at the end of Pride weekend, this list will keep you busy

A variety of Pride events, including parties, drag shows, marches, and the parade, are taking place around Vancouver in July and August 2025.

Vancouver's LGBTQ+ community, allies, friends, and family goes big in the summer.

From festivals to drag performances to the big parade, there's lots of colour and lots to do during Pride season.

That's no different this year; the following 17 events are just a part of the many parties, shows, fests, and other pieces to Pride taking place over the next month in Metro Vancouver.

Desi Pride Block Party

This is the first year for the Desi Pride Block Party, which is being organized by Sher Vancouver, an organization for queer South Asian people, along with friends, family and allies.

This all-ages event will see DJs, snacks, performances and a "Desi Drag" show.

"This is a pride block party made for the community — by the community," reads a post from Sher Vancouver on Instagram. "Come dance, connect, be seen."

The event is open to all.

When: Saturday, July 19, from 4 to 9 p.m.

Where: The Punjabi Market - Main Street and East 50th Ave.

Cost: Free


Vancouver Men’s Chorus Presents: The Big Gay Sing

The men of Canada’s first LGBTQ+ chorus are taking the stage just before Pride weekend.

A chorus is already a sort of sing-along, but this is going to be "a riotous Pride sing-along," according to organizers.

"With lyrics provided on-screen and all your queer anthems, there’s no excuse to just sit and watch! It’s time to let your hair down, don your sequins, and belt out some of our favourite camp classics," reads the event's page.

When: Friday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m.

Where: The Annex - 823 Seymour St.

Burnaby Pride Festival

A week before Vancouver's Pride weekend, Burnaby will see its annual festival take place.

There will be performances on stage, food trucks, lawn games, and community booths.

When: Saturday, July 26, from 3 to 7 p.m.

Where: Burnaby Civic Square - 6100 Willingdon Ave

Cost: Free


Cirque du Slay

During Pride there will be many, many drag shows, but perhaps only one involve mixes drag and circus performances.

"This one-night-only event promises boundary-pushing acts from some of the most devoted and unapologetic performers in the city," reads the event's page.

Acts will include aerial acrobatics, comedy, and an all-queer cast.

It's a 19+ event.

When: Thursday, July 31. Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m.

Where: The Rio Theatre - 1660 E Broadway

Cost: $30 + fees


Fitness is Such a DRAG

This fundraiser for Qmunity will see three 20-minute fitness sessions.

Drag stars like Kendall Gender, Tiffany Ann Co. and Hazel will perform as well.

When: Tuesday, July 29, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Vancouver Trans March

The annual march and event supporting Vancouver's trans, two spirit, genderqueer and intersex community takes place in East Vancouver.

"We will release more details of the exact route closer to the day for everyone’s safety," reads a recent post from organizers.

When: Friday, Aug. 1 at 6 p.m.

Where: Commercial Drive area, East Vancouver

Cost: Free


Dandy's Big Gay Cabaret

Hosted by TikTok star Dandy, there will be song, dance, burlesque and more at this cabaret.

"You might not be gay when you sit down, but research shows that attending this show will make you 69% gayer!" reads the event page. "HUZZAH!"

Along with he performances, the Rio will have Pride-themed cocktails and Pride t-shirts.

This is a 19+ event.

When: Friday, Aug. 1, Doors at 7:15 p.m. and show at 8 p.m.

Where: The Rio Theatre - 1660 E Broadway

Cost: $30


The Future of Drag

Led by Jewels Sparkles (runner-up of the most recent RuPaul's Drag Race), the Future of Drag has a host of performers, including Joey Jay and Farrah Moan (both competed on RuPaul's Drag Race) and Venus (who won Canada's Drag Race).

This is a 19+ event.

When: Friday, Aug. 1. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Where: Celebrities Nightclub - 1022 Davie St.

Cost: $68.45 (including fees)


Le Hangover: Pride Block Party

Pride won't just be based around Davie Street, Mount Pleasant's Bridhouse has a couple of events including a daytime block party.

"On Pride Saturday 2025, we're taking it to the streets for our first ever block party edition of the legendary all-bodies Pride parking lot pool party," reads the event page.

Headlining the block party will be New York-based Dai Burger.

This event is 19+.

When: Saturday, Aug. 2, from 1 to 8 p.m.

Where: The Birdhouse - 44 W 4th Ave

Cost: $36


Vancouver Dyke March and Festival

Aside from the date, details haven't been announced for the annual march.

Usually it takes place on Commercial Drive; last year, organizers estimated 3,000 people attended.

Earlier this year, organizers issued an open letter to the Vancouver Police Department, raising issues with how police handled the 2024 march.

When: Saturday, Aug. 2

Public Disco Pride Block Party

"Public Disco’s annual Pride Block Party returns to Mount Pleasant for our biggest event yet," reads a message from organizers.

A "full city block" is being turned into a queer dance party featuring two stages, in two lots and an alley, and even part of 3rd Avenue.

It'll be more than just a dance party, too, with an art walk, food market and more.

This is a 19+ event.

When: Saturday, Aug. 2, from 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Where: West 3rd Avenue and Ontario Street

Cost: Tickets start at $26.25.


Drag me to Davie

Located in the heart of Davie Village, the Qmunity hosted drag show will feature recent RuPaul's Drag Race competitor Lan Ja'Rae, Aurora Matrix (runner-up on Canada's Drag Race season 4) and more.

"Drag me to Davie is the can’t-miss event of the season, bringing you a star-studded night of drag royalty, queer joy, and the power of community coming together in support of Qmunity, BC’s 2SLGBTQIA+ resource centre," reads the event page.

This is a 19+ event.

When: Saturday, Aug. 2. Doors at 6 p.m. and show is at 7 p.m.

Where: 1125 Davie St.

Cost: $55


Vancouver Pride Parade

Vancouver's parades and marches in support of the LGBTQ+ community are some of the oldest in Canada

This year there are a couple of changes, including a new route that sees the parade start near Rogers Arena and end near the Burrard Bridge.

"Our signature event, the Vancouver Pride Parade with over 100,000 attendees, is back on Pride Weekend," reads the Vancouver PRide website.

"Led by our Host Nations, join us with local community groups, non-profit organizations, businesses and more all showcasing their support for the 2SLGBTQAI+ communities."

When: Sunday, Aug. 3, from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Where: Parade runs from Concord Pacific Place along Pacific Boulevard to Pacific and Burrard streets

Cost: Free


Davie Village Pride Festival/Nelson Park

Following the massive parade will be the return of a cornerstone Vancouver Pride event.

The festival used to take place just before the parade, but it's now where people will head after the parade ends.

The huge event will fill part of Davie and Comox streets and stretch to Nelson Park.

Visitors can enjoy button pressing, colouring, and ribbon making, as well as queer artisans and community resources. Live queer bands will also perform on the Concord Pacific Community Stage in the park

When: Sunday, Aug. 3, from 2 to 10 p.m. 

Where: Davie Street, from Burrard to Jervis, as well as Nelson Park

Cost: Free


Queers and Beers Pride Block Party

Those looking for something a bit different from the Davie festival can head over to the Birdhouse in Mount Pleasant.

"Queers and Beers is taking over the Birdhouse parking lot and the entire block of 4th Avenue between Ontario and Manitoba streets for our biggest, gayest patio party of the summer," reads the event page.

There'll be craft beer, local food trucks, live music and DJ sets.

This is a 19+ event.

When: Sunday, Aug. 3 from 1 to 8 p.m.

Where: The Birdhouse

Cost: $20


Untoxicated Festival

For anyone looking for a sober alternative to the Pride parties, Untoxicated in David Lam Park will be a LGBTQ+ celebration sans alcohol.

On stage will be a full slate of drag performers, including Naomi Smalls and Yvie Oddly, both repeat competitors on RuPaul's Drag Race.

Whether you’re in recovery, an ally, or just sober-curious, this festival welcomes all to come together in joy, solidarity, and Pride," reads the event page.

When: Sunday, Aug. 3, from 3 to 8 p.m.

Where: David Lam Park

Cost: Free


Events happening multiple times

The Really Gay History Tour

Learn about Vancouver's LGBTQ+ history via a walking tour of downtown and the Davie Village.

When: Sundays and Pride weekend at 10 a.m.

Make Me Famous screenings

The documentary Make Me Famous looks into the life and times of New York-based artist Edward Brezinski, including an interview with Vancouver-born street artist Richard Hambleton
