Great news for skiers and snowboarders: Vancouver's local slopes will open for the season this long weekend.

Both Grouse Mountain and Cypress Mountain will kick off their 2017-2018 season on Friday, November 10.

Cypress will get their season going first, opening from 9 am to 4 pm on the 10th, and offering 40% on tickets for opening day. This is the third earliest open in Cypress' 33-year history, too.

Things get going at 3 pm at Grouse Mountain, where they will have skiing and riding on weekdays 3 to 10 pm and weekends and holidays from 9 am to 10 pm. Check their current conditions for up-to-the-minute info.

When it comes to our other nearby slopes, Whistler Blackcomb's opening day is set for November 23, while Mount Seymour gets their 2017-2018 season underway on November 30.
