Learn radio reporting and audio storytelling in this podcasting primer with producer-journalists Madeline Taylor and Alex de Boer of UBC radio CiTR 101.9 FM.

Are you friends tired of your witty observations? Are there so many entertaining insights circulating your mind that your head might explode? It might be time to produce your own podcast.

VIVO Media Arts upcoming workshop will enable you to start your own podcast series by introducing the fundamentals of writing, interviewing, listening, recording, and editing for radio story production. Through hands on exercises, each student will work toward creating the first episode of their new podcast series.

Session one will cover interview basics, scrip development and basic audio equipment operation, while session two will teach you how to develop a solid structure by writing a script and editing it to reveal your story.

No previous experience is required other than having listened to a podcast before. Be sure to arrive with a basic idea of what you want your podcast to be about.
