B.C. deer with purple hammock stuck on its head is now HAMMOCK FREE

Earlier this month a deer in Prince Rupert made headlines as it was rocking a mess of purple cloth caught up in its antler.

Earlier this month a deer in Prince Rupert made headlines as it was rocking a mess of purple cloth caught up in its antler. The poor thing had somehow got stuck in a hammock in someone's backyard and a resident managed to cut away most of the fabric save for a puff of it that the thing ran off with.

The BC Conservation Officer Service subsequently issued an alert, hoping to capture it to remove the hindrance from its dome, and according to CBC the buck became such a sensation that people were dressing as him for halloween.

Great news came this evening as the BCCOS announced that they tranquilized Hammy (yes, he had been given a name), freed the purple hanging bed from his antlers and released him back into the wild. He's seemingly not too worse for wear aside from a telltale purple stain on his antler.
