Local musicians selected for new reality show starring Shania Twain, Fergie and more

Four local musicians have been selected to participate in CTV’s new reality show, The Launch.

After a national casting call and juried process that reviewed more than 10,000 emerging performers, 30 have been selected to participate in the new six-part, hour-long series, debuting in early 2018 on CTV.

The series’ premise will showcase celebrity music experts mentoring unsigned talent as they attempt to “create the next chart-topping song.” Celebrity mentors include Shania Twain, Fergie, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and world-renowned music mogul Scott Brochette, who is best known for discovering Taylor Swift.

Of the 10,000 applicants, four BC-based artists have been selected to participate in the show’s inaugural season: Sons of Daughters (North Vancouver), JP Maurice (Victoria), Raymond Salgado (Nanaimo/Lantzville), and Nicky MacKenzie (Salt Spring Island).

The series premiere date has not been announced, but a series of behind the scenes videos have been posted HERE.
