Virtuous Pie’s new location has vegan soft serve, new pizzas, and more

At long last, the hotly-anticipated second location of Virtuous Pie is opening at UBC Wesbrook Village. The Vancouver-born plant-based pizzeria has brand new 2,000-square-foot digs at the development, and have expanded menu options to boot.

Joining the roster of their popular vegan pizza line-up are these new creations:

  • Peking Express (5 Spice Onion Cream, Hoisin Pulled Mushrooms, Cashew Mozzarella, Gai Lan, Scallion Ginger Sauce, Crispy Shallots, and Sesame)
  • Pesto C.B.R (Bianca, Pesto Marinated Chicken, Sundried Tomatoes, Cashew Mozzarella, House-made Bacon, Garlic Ranch and Rocket)
  • Calabrese (Sauce Arrabbiata, Goat Cheese, Charred Fennel, Olives, Calabrian Chile, Fried Capers, Fennel Fronds)

Plus they have a new brunch pizza, Steak + Eggs (Cheddar Cream, Caramelized Onion, Steak Curls, Tofu Scramble, Oven dried tomatoes, and Fresh Chimichurri), along with Shakshuka–another morning menu addition.

This Virtuous Pie location will also serve pizza by the slice during the week, and they have room for more goodness, like soft serve ice cream, Matchstick coffee, Dipped Doughnut Co.’s donuts, and house-made breakfast pastries.

Speaking of their soft serve ice cream, this is in response to the item being super popular in recent years. And, it’s in addition to offering their regular non-dairy ice cream by the serving or pint for taking to-go. Their soft serve flavours at launch time will be Vanilla and Strawberry.

This is Virtuous Pie’s second Vancouver location, and third overall (there’s one up and running in Portland). A fourth is planned for Toronto.

The Virtuous Pie Wesbrook Mall location at 3339 Shrum Lane will be open Monday to Thursday 8 am to 10 pm,  Friday 8 am to 11 pm, Saturday 10 am to 11 pm, and Sunday 10 am to 10 pm.  Brunch will be available as of mid-March every Saturday and Sunday, 10 am – 2.30 pm. Online ordering for pick-up is also available and delivery by Doordash will start in the spring.
