Starbucks puts glittery Crystal Ball Frappuccinos on the menu

Unicorns and zombies are a tough act to follow, and Starbucks is hoping they’ll get lucky with their new trio of Crystal Ball Frappuccino drinks. Available in Canada starting Thursday, March 22 and for a limited time, these sugary, colourful, fruity blended drinks also come infused with sparkles.

The base drink is a crème-based Frappuccino infused with peach flavour and turquoise sparkles, topped with peach-flavoured whipped cream, and your choice of three colours of “candy gems” on top: blue, green, or purple.

Each colour allegedly will foretell a different fate, though the outcome in these situations is rarely unclear: You’ll see these all over social media, stores will run out and people will feel rage, consumers may experience sugar shock. (A grande Crystal Ball Frappuccino has 55g of sugar and 16g of fat, including 10g of saturated fat.)

If you cannot resist shiny objects, your fate seems clearly in the hands of your nearest Starbucks barista.
