Metro Vancouver tweeted out the photo above this morning, reminding people that the Grouse Grind trail is still closed for safety maintenance.
They announced last week that the popular hiking trail will be closed for “three to four weeks” beginning Tuesday, May 22. Work being done includes rock scaling, danger tree removal, step repair and safety netting replacement in anticipation of another busy summer on the trail.
The trail is closed during maintenance work for the safety of hikers and work crews. Any hiker who disregards the closure will further delay the re-opening of the trail, as crews must suspend their work if anyone is on the trail.
They’re encouraging people to use the nearby BCMC Trail as an alternative until they reopen the iconic Grind.
