V.I.A. Podcast Ep. 25: Vancouver parking meters accept tips now?!

This week on the Vancouver Is Awesome Podcast we’ve brought in the anonymous satirist behind the “Vancouver parking meters now accepting tips” article you may have seen recently.

Hosts Bob Kronbauer and Melissa Shaw (filling in for Lindsay William-Ross) are joined in studio by John Swift (not his real name) who’s behind the satirical news website The Vancouver Glass.

John discusses why he does what he does, how his “Vancouver parking meters now accepting tips” story became a hit and the difference between fake news and satire.

We also brought in Adam Nanji to talk about the Morgan Freeman SkyTrain fiasco, and a group of sweet muslim kids who break their fast every year and break bread with folks in the Downtown Eastside. Lastly, we discuss the awesomeness that is Vancouver Craft Beer Week 2018!
