Dog that was stolen in New Westminster has been found

A dog that was stolen from New Westminster SkyTrain station has been found by the Vancouver Police in the Downtown Eastside.

The dog's owners leashed him outside a store at the station around 6:15 p.m. on June 1, went inside and later came out to find him missing.

New Westminster Police searched the area and watched video surveillance showing a Caucasian female, approximately 40-years-old, leaving the area holding a small dog in her arms.

New Westminster Police released an update at about 8:30 p.m. on June 4 saying the dog had been found safe in Vancouver but their investigation into any criminal offence continues.

Jackson the dog is an 11-year-old Brussels Griffon and the VPD say he was pretty excited to go home.
