A few familiar names in the Vancouver restaurant scene have recently sprouted wings and grown. With brand new locations that have recently opened up, these five local food businesses (and one Quebec import) are ready to feed more Metro Vancouverites.

Here are six Vancouver restaurants that have just opened more locations.

Kokomo - Kitsilano

A post shared by ShopWest4th (@shopwest4th) on

Kokomo is known for their plant-based menu of bowls, offering everything from fruit and nut-laden acai bowls to grain bowls, salads, and soups. They are also beloved for their smoothies and other snacks, including the dairy-free Aussie soft serve, Coco Whip. Recently they took over the former Culprit coffee location in Kitsilano, and made short work of transforming the space into a veg-lover's chic hang out.

Address: 2028 Vine Street, Vancouver

Prado Cafe - Surrey

Prado Cafe’s Surrey outpost is situated in the lobby of 3 Civic Plaza. The Surrey City Centre development includes a hotel and residences, and is Surrey’s tallest tower. This is the fifth location for Prado Cafe, and their first south of the Fraser. The coffee shop was launched in 2004, then taken over in 2011 by award-winning barista and passionate coffee expert Sammy Piccolo.

Address: 3 Civic Plaza, Surrey

 Bel Café  - Kitsilano

Downtown’s charming Bel Café has finally added a second location to its roster. The David Hawksworth venture officially opened their doors in Kitsilano in early June. Here they have an expansive counter with pastries and a menu of coffee and tea, including specialty drinks. In addition to the baked goods, they have a selection of savoury toasts (think kale and eggs, or avocado, or tomato and burrata and the like).

Address: 1780 West 3rd Avenue, Vancouver

Ramen Koika - Robson Street

Ramen Koika has been up and running on Davie Street in the West End since March 2014, but this spring they added a location on Robson's ever-expanding "Ramen Row." Tuck into Koika’s Nagasaki-style pork broth ramen offerings, including the Black Garlic, another bestseller that really delivers on its promise of garlicky flavour, and their decadent King's Seafood. They make their thick and thin noodles on site, too.

Address: 1479 Robson Street, Vancouver

Heirloom Vegetarian - West Vancouver

Heirloom in South Granville has been a go-to for vegetarian and vegan eats in Vancouver for years now, and they have finally gotten their expansion off the ground. You'll find them now in West Vancouver, too, dishing up their signature bowls, toasts, salads, sandwiches, and mains, in a beautiful new space in the Grosvenor Ambleside development.

Address: 1390 Marine Drive, West Vancouver

Cacao 70 - Vancouver and Richmond

The Quebec-based treats shop centred on all things chocolate has opened not one but two new Vancouver-area locations recently. First up is their Richmond "dippery" ice cream shop in Steveston Village, where you'll find their oh-so-Instagrammable dipped cones in beautiful hues. Then there's their newest local "Sweet House" which has opened up on Granville Street in downtown.

Address: 738 Granville Street, Vancouver

Address: 3866 Bayview Street, Richmond

And a heads up, food fans: A few other local spots are expanding, too. Salad shop Field & Social is prepping a new downtown location for fall of this year, Matchstick coffee is adding a fourth cafe to their lineup, and Commercial Drive's Sopra Sotto will soon fire up their pizza oven in Burnaby Heights.
