Vancouverites who love North Delta’s popular Tasty Indian Bistro will be able to satisfy their cravings within city limits when the restaurant opens up its second location soon in Yaletown.

Moving into 1261 Hamilton Street, in the space previously home to the Asian-Fusion KiBo restaurant, Tasty Indian Bistro is aiming to welcome their first customers on Friday, October 12.

Tasty Indian Bistro as we know it now–the modern, vibrant, large restaurant on 120th Street on the North Delta side of the Delta/Surrey border–actually began in 1999, when Indian immigrant and restaurateur Avtar Saini opened the modest Tasty Sweets and Restaurant on Scott Road in Surrey.

Saini passed away in 2010, a year before his son and son-in-law opened Tasty Indian Bistro in its current location.

Known for its sleek interior and a selection of Indian fare that many hail as the best in Metro Vancouver (and that some even drive across the border for!), Tasty Indian Bistro serves lunch and dinner to packed crowds daily.

Showcasing everything from specialties done in the Tandoori clay ovens to chicken, lamb, seafood, and veggie-based entrees, along with all the trimmings, including fresh naan, rice, and more, Tasty Indian Bistro is beloved for dishes like Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Paneer Pakora, Samosas, Kadahi Lamb, Malai Kofta, Goat Curry, and their garlic naan–among many, many others.

The family-run table service Tasty Indian Bistro has been keeping fans updated on their progress in Yaletown via social media, so keep your eyes open for their opening day details and info about hours and other amenities at the new location. The ambitious restaurant has also hinted that they are eying even further locations as a “fast expanding lower mainland chain restaurant.”
