Almost two years after his death, Vancouver police Wednesday announced an arrest in the 2017 murder of Maninder Singh Braich.
Just after midnight on Feb. 9, 2017, officers responded to a report of an injured man at a home near Prince Albert Street and East 49th Avenue. Braich, a 38-year-old Vancouver resident, was rushed to hospital but died a short time later.
Media relations officer Sgt. Jason Robillard said in a press release that detectives from the department’s homicide unit identified 56-year-old Surjit Toor of Vancouver as the person responsible for Braich’s death. He was arrested and has been charged with second-degree murder.
Robillard said the two men were known to each other.
Toor remains in custody.
