A Vancouver man is facing several charges in a West End sex assault dating back to November.

Tyler Emerson Gagnon, 35, has been charged with sexual assault with a weapon, unlawful confinement, robbery and uttering threats in the alleged assault that took place in the early morning hours of Nov. 17.
Just before 3 a.m., a woman reported that a man followed her into an apartment building on Bute Street near Pendrell Street and attacked her before fleeing. Gagnon was arrested the next day and held in police custody. A Canada-wide warrant had been issued for Gagnon's arrest after he had failed to return to his Vancouver halfway home.
