The Saanich site was chosen by family members of the late Ron Hale, creator of the eight-metre-tall figure.

One hitch is that Howard is about half a metre too tall for Saanich height bylaws, said Rob Galey, who was told he could apply for a variance.

After extensive repairs this summer, Howard is set to take his place among other Galey Farms features, including a corn maze, railway and pirate ship.
