Yes, Summer Movies Nights on the Square is back for its second year!

Summer Movie Nights is a free event where different movies are screened every week for eight weeks on a HUGE inflatable screen at the šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square (formerly known as the Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza).

The event is hosted by the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association and runs from July 3 to August 21, with screenings happening every Wednesday at sunset (around 8:00pm - 9:00pm). The event is accessible and intended for everyone. Did we mention that it’s free?

This year’s screenings will also include LED light-up swings, freshly popped popcorn, a gigantic Jenga set and different food trucks each week.

Last year’s screenings attracted 4,000+ people, and this year it’s expected to be even more popular. There will also be special activations per screening, like photo booths, red carpets and more than a few pop-up surprises.

The weekly activations are top secret for now, you’ll have to check back soon for updates (including the full lineup of movies that will be screened this year!).
